Das Vorbild: 
Das stromleitende Herzstück - Eine Besonderheit bilden die Weichen 9178-9181 (Normalweichen) und 9168/ 9169 sowie 9182/9183 (Bogenweichen): Bei diesen Weichen wird durch das stromleitende Herzstück die Fahrspannungsversorgung auch im Herzstückbereich der Weiche optimiert. Weichen mit stromleitendem Herzstück müssen immer in die Fahrtrichtung gestellt werden, aus der der Zug (Lok) kommt, sonst entsteht ein Kurzschluss. Die erforderliche Umschaltung der Polarität des Herzstückes erfolgt automatisch bei Umstellung der Weiche.
