 Das Vorbild:
 Mit den Bogenweichen (9174-77, 9168/9169 sowie 9182/9183) kann man von einem Kreisbogen mit Radius R1 in einen Kreisbogen mit Radius R2 – und umgekehrt – wechseln. So können platzsparend Gleisverzweigungen besonders im Bahnhofsvorfeld erstellt und damit die nutzbare Gleislänge eines Bahnsteiggleises verlängert werden. Daher sind bereits viele Start-Sets mit diesem praktischen Weichentyp ausgestattet. Der Außenbogen der Bogenweiche entspricht dem 45°-Gleis 9125 (R2), der Innenbogen dem 45°-Gleis 9120 (R1). Die Bogenweichen 9174/9175 und 9168/9169 können nachträglich mit Elektroantrieben (9421-9423) ausgerüstet und als "denkende" Weiche geschaltet werden.
